Hi,

I am the moderator for this topic at least until another willing member steps up to relieve me.

This will be a great place to share teaching ideas and help each other with curricullum and general classroom problems.

Hi Gordon and Ed

First of all let me introduce to you Mr. Tim Dickens one of our ETJ presentor before.
He is presently doing some DJ at Tenjin FM Fukuoka and he owned a school too somewhere in Fukuoka. Perhpas he can add more... at the How do you do? section.

Ed, Would you mind teaching him how to invite some members to the group?

With you favor,

Jocelyn

Hi Tim and welcome to our discussion board. I think I was at your ETJ presentation a few years ago (enjoyed it very much) and have seen you on TV occasionally. Tim Sensei? Forgive me if I'm wrong though. My memory isn't what it used to be.

To invite someone to this board just give them the link. They will have to sign up themselves. There are some instructions on the main page. http://www.etj-fukuoka.org/index.html

We also have a yahoo group that we mostly use for announcements. Yahoo groups are great for reaching people but are largely passive. I think Yukiko and I are the only ones that have posted in the past few years.

This board is more active because people who use this type of a board are generally more active. Teh messages just don't come to you.

The Yahoo Groups are generally much more low maintenance but its probably less painful to just shoot yourself than search through that dark abyss they call the archives. These type forums make it much easier to keep things organized

We also have a seperate committee member forum and an owners forum that will magically appear if you ask me to switch you on.

Enough of the introduction already,

The main focus for this page and the ETJ group is to help teachers find their own balance between theory and practice. The focus for school owners is general support for running thier schools.

Please feel free to contribute as much or as little as you want. I have pretty much domintated this board but that is only to get it started. I look forward to seeting others ideas and insights about teaching English

Best Regards,
Gordon
